With the remodel going on it's so crazy at my house I had to get away one afternoon to do something creative. Starting or finishing a painting was not an option, so I got out my colored pens and did some Zentangle. It's relaxing and absorbing at the same time. It takes your mind off of what is going on in your life and you combine your colors and doodles with abandon. It's small enough to finish in an afternoon and I come away with a sense of accomplishment. This will make a nice "mini" for our art league's sale in February.

I've been wanting to do some zentangles or doodle art with the many pens and markers that I have acquired over the years. I like the ones I've seen with a subject in them so I used a seahorse and a hummingbird as my beginning place. I tried to make them interesting and varied. Maybe my desire to make them artistically balanced gets in my way. I think they are colorful and fun, a great way to play with my "stuff" when I'm not working on a painting or collage. I think they will make fun note cards, too.
