Day 9, Georgia On My Mind

Georgia On My Mind
Alcohol Ink on Yupo, 7 X 5.5

Some artists are following as theme as Leslie suggested, I am not, obviously. I guess it's because of my random personality type, I get bored easily if I do the same thing every day. This is a rather experimental alcohol ink piece. I'm trying to get the stuff to flow before it dries, which seems to happen in about 6 seconds. I put down a layer of blending solution, then the ink and got some movement. This reminds me of the close up flowers that were painted by Georgia O'Keeffe, hence the title. More experimenting with this medium ahead.

  1. This is GORGEOUS - my fave so far of your paintings!

  2. Fabulous! It looks like a koi to me.

  3. Love this piece! Gorgeous rich color and interesting shapes make me want to see it up close.

  4. Wow! this is a great piece... you have such a way with this medium...
Love your cats too.... hope this still get to you as you know it always comes back to me..
but I think it's alright... keep going your doing a fabulous job.

  5. Nice one Janet! Love the movement and colors.
